2018: A transformative year for SSH.COM

The year 2018 is now officially in the books: we just published our 2018 Annual Report. Our 2018 results are further proof that our transformation process that began in late 2016 is working as intended. We grew our revenue, held our costs level, and produced our first profitable year since 2014.

Some would call this a great year – we call it a good start. We are aiming much higher still and will continue our journey to be a major global player in the cloud-era cybersecurity market.

The new SSH.COM

SSH.COM today is a very different company compared to what it was when I started as CEO little over 2 years ago. We've renewed the company throughout and exorcised the ghosts of the past. We are financially stable, we have some fantastic new products and a mixture of brilliant old and new talent, and we are looking confidently into the future.

One key change is the major organizational change we announced last December. The streamlined organization fosters a more customer-centric mindset, accelerates innovation and development, and improves information flow within the company.

A key part of the renewal was the formation of a new Customer Experience and Products function with a charter to create strong customer engagements, ensure a consistently excellent customer experience with SSH.COM, and importantly, drive product decisions based on customer and market insight.

This change lays the foundation for the next phase of our journey: establishing SSH.COM first as a strong challenger, and then as a leader in Next Generation Access.

The year of the partner

Last year was also truly the year of the partner for us: we launched several new partnerships in 2018, covering both PrivX and UKM. These new partners, including ForgeRock, Fujitsu, and Ubisecure for PrivX, and Thales and Wipro for UKM, increase our ability to reach new customer groups and offer our products to even wider audiences.

PrivX® enters the big leagues

With the release of version 5, PrivX, our Zero Trust-inspired Next Generation Access solution, has definitely entered the big leagues. Noted by customers and analysts alike, PrivX is now enterprise-ready, with an exciting future roadmap that will bring even more fast-to-deploy lean PAM goodness to our customers.

While we talk of PrivX as a the next-generation Privileged Access Management solution, it is actually much more. The PrivX architecture serves as the platform to bring together all aspects needed for building a comprehensive secure access platform based on the Zero Trust “never trust, always verify, enforce least privilege” approach to privileged access, from inside or outside the network.

PrivX has an advanced technical architecture that allows fast development and flexible APIs that allow seamless integration of best-of-breed solutions and technologies from different vendors, and even from customers themselves.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more

Our ambition level is high and our target of becoming a leader in Next Generation Access is not an easy one. We have many of the capabilities needed for reaching the goal: an impressive customer list, world-class cybersecurity competencies, operational agility, and a focused and motivated team. By challenging ourselves and striving for a lofty goal, we can continue making SSH.COM an even better company, in order to create growth and deliver increased shareholder value.

With improved financials, new products, and a renewed and leaner organization, we enter the new year with quiet confidence and unwavering focus. There is a lot of work to do but we can undertake that work from an ever-strengthening position and I am looking forward to an eventful and successful year.

Regards,
Kaisa
