Collecting Host Logs

Tectia Manager can collect several kinds of logs from the managed hosts:

  • system logs about the Management Agent's own operations, these are collected by default

  • logs about the operations of the SSH software installed on a managed host; collection can be enabled in the Management Agent configuration.

  • logs about the file-related operations on the monitored SFTP servers; collection can be enabled in the Management Agent configuration. For information on the file operation logs, see Auditing the File Transfer Data.

You can configure what information will be logged and to which syslog facility.

(For information on configuring the Management Server logging, see Managing Logs.)

For information on defining the syslog facility for the Management Agent (on Unix), see Configuring the Syslog Facility for Management Agent (Unix).
