SSH Communications Security and Portalify Provide Interoperable, Critical and Real-time Communications for Public Authorities
Helsinki, Finland - July 15, 2025 - SSH Communications Security (SSH) and Portalify are proud to announce a partnership that secures and expands mission-critical communications for personnel in critical field operations. TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) is a digital radio standard widely adopted for mission-critical communications in public safety, transportation, utilities, and defence.
Over 120 countries use TETRA networks worldwide, including VIRVE in Finland and BOSNET in Germany for critical communications across high-reliability sectors, such as police, fire, ambulance, intelligence, military units and in critical infrastructures such as ports, railways and airports.
Leonardo is a major TETRA –based communication systems provider for high-reliability and high-security sectors. As announced in July 2025, Leonardo becomes the largest shareholder in SSH Communications Security, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership.
The collaboration between Portalify and SSH securely integrates the widely adopted TETRA network with SalaX Secure Messaging — a modern, secure communication platform available on iOS, Android, desktop apps, and browsers. The integration enables faster team response and streamlined communication.
SSH’s SalaX Secure Messaging solution encrypts messages and chat rooms, and enables secure audio/video communications to ensure privacy and compliance. It is available from a European secure cloud, or organizations can choose other deployment models that give them digital sovereignty, full control over their data, and proper governance.
The solution is based on both the Element communications platform and the decentralized Matrix open standard for secure and interoperable communication used by the likes of the French government, the German Armed Forces and an experimental NATO ACT -project.
