Automating IT Orders with AI and SalaX Secure Messaging

What happens when secure messaging, defined business logic, and real-time Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation come together? At SSH, it results in a fully operational, AI-powered IT Superstore — running inside our very own SalaX Secure Messaging.

Since June 2025, our employees have been able to order phones and headsets simply by messaging the SSH IT Superstore user in SalaX Secure Messaging. The system is built on an AI agent that handles hardware orders across multiple systems — and it works. Every day.

Built with modern tools, deployed with confidence

The SSH IT Superstore is developed almost entirely with ChatGPT, using TypeScript and the OpenAI Agents SDK. It’s packaged as a Docker image and runs in a production environment — a great example of how AI can generate enterprise-grade code from end to end.

It monitors SalaX Secure Messaging conversations and interacts with:

  • Verkkokauppa (order API),
  • internal IT and HR notification systems.

The project is fully version-controlled and maintained in code repository, supporting secure and structured development.

From manual tickets to AI conversations

At SSH, employees receive essential devices like phones, and headsets, with regular renewals every two years.

 

What used to be a manual process with support tickets is now fully automated.

Here’s how it works:

  • A user sends a direct message in SalaX Secure Messaging saying they need a new phone or headset.
  • The agent checks Sympa to confirm whether the current item is eligible for renewal (over two years old).
  • If eligible, it shares a purchase link from Verkkokauppa (via their API).
  • Once the user approves, the agent:
    • places the order via Verkkokauppa’s API,
    • updates the new item,
    • and notifies SSH IT and HR.

No manual handling.  And everything tracked correctly.

SalaX Secure Messaging - a platform for AI Agents 

One of the key enablers behind this solution is Secure Messaging, which acts as the user interface for the AI agent. Instead of relying on traditional apps or portals, the entire process happens naturally in a secure chat. SalaX Secure Messaging enables the integration, provides a UI for the interaction, and ensures privacy and compliance are built-in.

A big part of this success comes down to:
