SSH and Leonardo: A Strategic Partnership for Trusted European Cybersecurity

As cyber threats grow more sophisticated and the advent of quantum computing challenges traditional cryptographic foundations, organisations, operating in highly regulated and mission-critical infrastructure environments face unprecedented security demands.

Rapidly evolving attack methods, combined with increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, are accelerating the need for Zero Trust privileged access management solutions that not only control and secure access, but are resilient by design.

To remain secure and compliant over the long term, enterprises and public sector organisations must adopt future-proof architectures that embed quantum-safe cryptography, strengthen operational resilience, and protect critical systems against both today’s threats and tomorrow’s quantum-era risks.

With this in mind, in July 2025, SSH and Leonardo announced a strategic partnership focused on delivering trusted cybersecurity solutions focused on protecting critical infrastructure, which has become of paramount importance in today’s very complex geopolitical environment.

The partnership brings together SSH’s expertise in Zero Trust privileged access management and quantum-safe network security with Leonardo’s strong presence in aerospace, defence, security, and critical infrastructures. Leonardo is a global key player in aerospace, defence, and security, and the collaboration reflects a shared ambition to strengthen Europe’s cybersecurity capabilities in this increasingly complex threat landscape.

Together, Leonardo and SSH are strategic partners delivering trusted cybersecurity, supporting organisations that operate in highly regulated and mission-critical environments.

Commenting on the partnership, Rami Raulas, CEO of SSH, said:

“We are excited to enter this strategic partnership for the fast-growing cyber security market. SSH’s PrivX and NQX have already proven their value as innovative and advanced and modern Zero Trust Privileged Access Management and future-proof Quantum Safe Network Security solutions.

By integrating the offering with Leonardo’s strong presence in the Defence, Aerospace & Space and Critical Infrastructures markets we expect to realise significant synergies and generate new business opportunities. SSH has been at the forefront of encryption and is a leader in the transition to Quantum Safe PQC encryption across its solutions.”

From Leonardo’s perspective, the partnership is part of a broader strategic shift to strengthen its role in cybersecurity and Zero Trust across Europe. Simone Ungaro, Co-General Manager Strategy & Innovation at Leonardo, stated during the Capital Markets Day event organised by SSH in 2025:

“The agreement with SSH marks an important step in strengthening Leonardo’s position in the rapidly expanding cybersecurity market. By combining SSH’s advanced technologies with Leonardo’s domain expertise, we are building a stronger European Zero Trust and data-centric security offering for governments, defence organisations, and critical infrastructures.”

Roberto Cingolani, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Leonardo, added:

“Cybersecurity represents one of the strategic development areas of our industrial plan. With this acquisition, Leonardo increases its portfolio from an international perspective, positioning itself as a reference point to lead the Zero Trust revolution in Europe.

The agreement combines SSH's technological expertise with Leonardo's technologies and solutions, advanced assets and services, and domain-specific knowledge. In an environment where threats evolve rapidly and regulations become more stringent; organisations increasingly need advanced future-proof solutions.”

Together, SSH and Leonardo are building a long-term partnership grounded in innovation, trust, and a shared commitment to delivering future-proof cybersecurity solutions.
