Gartner® Market Guide for CPS Secure Remote Access Lists SSH Communications Security for PrivX® OT
Helsinki, Finland — February 24, 2026. SSH Communications Security (SSH) is listed as a Representative Vendor in Gartner® Market Guide for CPS Secure Remote Access* with its PrivX OT, which secures remote access for operational technology (OT) and Cyber-Physical System (CPS) environments.
We feel that Gartner emphasizes that remote access has become a foundational operational capability — and one of the most exploited attack vectors — in industrial and critical infrastructure environments.
Legacy remote access mechanisms under threat
Per Gartner, attackers are increasingly targeting weak or vulnerable legacy remote access such as VPN and jump boxes to gain access to CPS environments, requiring organizations to adopt purpose-built CPS remote access to mitigate risks. In CPS environments, inappropriate or malicious access can result in physical damage, safety incidents, environmental harm, or operational outages.
Gartner also highlights the growing risk of “shadow access” — undocumented or unmanaged remote connections created by OEMs, contractors, or employees — which can bypass governance and security controls.
