Tectia MFT Events consists of the following main components:
Tectia MFT Events engine (
ssh-events) carries out
the file operations defined in the configuration. The engine can be running,
for example, in a data center.
The engine is always run as the dedicated Tectia MFT Events user, by default named
sshmft. The engine runs as a non-root daemon on Unix and as a
service on Windows.
Management Console that provides the administration interface on Linux and Windows platforms. The management console is a versatile interface for configuring the general settings of the product and for handling the scheduled file transfer events. Through the management console, file transfer operators or administrators can create, edit, start, stop, and remove events, and also view the logs about the execution status of each event.
The management console can be installed on the same host as the Tectia MFT Events engine (local mode), or on separate hosts, for example on file operator workstations. When used in remote management mode, the management console can be used to control several remote Tectia MFT Events engines.
The management console secures the connections to remotely managed engines
by using tunnelled SFTP connections. When used in remote management mode, the
management console can be run also with other user accounts, but the management
connections to remote Tectia MFT Events engines must be made as the dedicated Tectia MFT Events user
Tectia MFT Events utility:
ssh-events-ctl is a control and monitoring utility for the
ssh-events-ctl can be used to run and list
events, to view logs, to stop the Tectia MFT Events process, and to view its status and
make it reload the configuration.
SFTP API for securing the file transfers. The API provides an interface between the events-triggering engine and the Connection Broker.
The Connection Broker,
ssh-broker-g3, takes care of all
authentication, encryption and secure communications operations for Tectia MFT Events.
The Connection Broker configurations and connection settings are handled through the
Tectia MFT Events Management Console.
ssh-broker-ctl is a command line utility to start and
stop the Connection Broker, and to make it reload the configuration.
Tectia MFT Events contains a built-in SMTP client for sending e-mail notifications about event statuses and results to defined users.
Auxiliary command-line tools:
These command-line tools are for authentication key and certificate management. For more information on the tools, see their manpages, or the Tectia MFT Events Administrator Manual.
