Installing the Management Server Software

This section gives instructions on installing the Management Server to the supported Linux and Solaris platforms.

Adjust also the ulimit for file descriptors in the operating system settings. The Management Server uses one file descriptor per Management Agent or Distribution Server connecting directly to it. Increase the ulimit to exceed the number of Agents and Distribution Servers connecting to the Management Server.

If you want to use an external Oracle database with Tectia Manager, refer to Using an Oracle Database.
