Installing Tectia Remotely via Tectia Manager

As a first step, you should import the Tectia installation binaries into the system as described in Importing Tectia Packages into Tectia Manager. After this, Tectia is available for installation in the Software menu.

When software is installed, the configurations are updated to corresponding versions. Note that local configuration changes on the hosts will be overwritten even if the changes have not been reported to the Management Server. Local configuration changes known at the time of the software deployment can be viewed in the status column of the software installation listing.


It is advisable to check if the hosts already contain some Secure Shell software. Any locally installed Tectia (especially those in non-default directories) or some third-party Secure Shell software may cause unexpected behavior. Preferably uninstall any such software manually before deploying Tectia software to the host.


If software installation is initiated to an unconnected host which is then deleted from the Management Server, the installation job will be left in a state where the success rate is less than 100% and the job will not be moved to the "Finished" jobs. Such unfinished jobs need to be aborted manually.
