Automatic Initial Deployment

The Management Server can be used to do automatic batch installations of the Management Agent on Unix hosts running ssh, rlogin, or telnet. Only a list of host names and the necessary credentials to log in to the hosts need to be given to the Management Server, the rest is automatic.

The hosts to be added under management need to have one of the following ports and/or services:

These ports need to be open only during initial deployment through SSH Tectia Manager. You also need the relevant programs on the Management Server host.

Remote installation requires root access to the target host. Root access is not needed for SSH Tectia Manager operations after the Management Agent has been installed. Root passwords will not be stored on the Management Server after the initial deployment has been completed.
