Removing from Windows

You have several alternative ways of removing the Tectia ConnectSecure installation from a Windows machine. Select one method and follow the instructions below:

Using Windows Control Panel tools

  1. Open the Control Panel and double-click the Add or Remove Programs or Uninstall a program option.

  2. Select Tectia ConnectSecure from the list of installed programs and click the Remove or Uninstall button.

  3. Click Yes to confirm.

  4. You have to restart the computer after uninstalling Tectia ConnectSecure. Click Yes to restart.

    Note that the Tectia ConnectSecure folder in the Windows Start menu is not removed.

Using the Windows Installer

  1. Double-click the installation package ssh-tectia-connectsecure-<version>-windows.msi. On some Windows versions the .msi file type is not shown for the installer file.

  2. Select the Remove option and confirm.

    The wizard will uninstall the Tectia ConnectSecure.

  3. You have to restart the computer after uninstalling Tectia ConnectSecure. Click Yes to restart.

    Note that the Tectia ConnectSecure folder in the Windows Start menu is not removed.

[Note]Note

The uninstallation procedure removes only the files that were created when installing the software. Any configuration files have to be removed manually.

Using the command line tools for silent uninstallation:

msiexec /q /x ssh-tectia-connectsecure-<version>.msi

In the command, <version> indicates the product release version and the exact build number to be removed (for example, 6.3.14.123).
