2025: A Year in Review | SSH

As the year comes to a close, it is a good moment to pause, look back, and say thank you.

2025 has been a meaningful year for us at SSH Communications Security. A year of growth, recognition, new partnerships, and important milestones, all driven by a shared mission: helping organizations secure access, communications, and critical infrastructure in an increasingly complex world.

Most importantly, it has been a year shaped by the trust of our customers and partners. For that, we are deeply grateful.

A new chapter in leadership

At the beginning of the year, we officially welcomed Rami Raulas as CEO of SSH. Having served as interim CEO before stepping into the role permanently, Rami’s appointment marked an important milestone for the company.

Under his leadership, SSH has continued to sharpen its focus on Zero Trust, operational technology security, and quantum safe communications, areas where the need for strong, reliable security has never been greater.

As Rami said at the time of his appointment: “SSH has great solutions, an impressive base of satisfied customers and is well positioned to continue profitable growth globally. Market demand for Zero Trust, operational technology security, defence solutions and migration to post quantum safety will drive the company forward for many years to come.”

Recognition from the industry

One of the most rewarding parts of 2025 has been seeing our work recognized by significant industry analysts. These acknowledgements validate not just our technology, but the long-term thinking and expertise behind it.

Over the year, SSH and our flagship PAM solution PrivX were recognized by several leading analyst firms, including:

  • SSH has also been recognized as an “Honorable Mention” in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for PAM Solutions. Info Tech Research Group, highlighting our modern approach to privileged access management
  • Industrial Cyber, recognizing SSH in its operational technology security vendor profile

We are proud of these recognitions, and even more proud of the teams behind the technology that made them possible.

A strategic partnership with Leonardo

In 2025, we also took a significant step forward through a strategic investment from Leonardo S.p.A., which invested 20 million euros in SSH, becoming our largest shareholder.

Leonardo is a global leader in aerospace, defence, and security, and this partnership strengthens

SSH’s role in delivering Zero Trust privileged access management and quantum safe network encryption for mission critical environments. Together, we are building a Center of Excellence that supports some of the world’s most demanding security requirements.

This partnership is not just about growth. It is about shared values, long term innovation, and trust. Together with our strategic partner Leonardo, we are at the forefront of making Zero Trust a reality in Europe. We are bringing it out of theory and into real world deployments, while strengthening European digital sovereignty and secure digital transformation.

Meeting the highest security standards

Security is only meaningful when it stands up to real world scrutiny. That is why achieving the US FIPS 140 3 certification for PrivX was such an important milestone for us this year.

Being among the first privileged access management solutions to meet this standard opens new opportunities in government and highly regulated markets, and reinforces our commitment to delivering security that customers can rely on, even in the most sensitive environments.

30 years of SSH

This year was also special for another reason. We celebrated 30 years since our founder, Tatu Ylönen, invented the Secure Shell protocol.

What started as a solution to a real security problem became a foundational technology used across the world. Three decades later, that same spirit of solving hard security problems with practical, elegant solutions continues to guide everything we do.

Thank You

None of this would be possible without our customers, partners, and the wider cybersecurity community.

Thank you for trusting SSH, for challenging us, and for working with us to build more secure systems and infrastructures. We are proud to be part of your security journey.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we remain committed to what matters most: trust, innovation, and security that works in the real world.

From all of us at SSH, thank you, and here is to a secure year ahead.
