This guide describes the changes between SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS version 5.x client tools and version 6.0 client tools, and gives instructions on upgrading the tools. Readers are expected to be familiar with SSH Tectia Server 5.x for IBM z/OS.

The architecture of the SSH Tectia client tools for z/OS was changed in release 6.0. The new SSH G3 architecture allows for faster file transfer speeds and better scalability.

Along with the architecture changes, the configuration file format used by SSH Tectia client tools was changed in release 6.0; now it uses a more flexible and robust XML format.

Migrating existing installations of SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS will require planning and rewriting of the client configuration files. This document contains instructions on planning and carrying out the migration from SSH Tectia Server 5.x for IBM z/OS client tools to version 6.0 client tools.

	Note
	Server configuration and commands are not affected in SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS version 6.0. The same configuration format and commands as in version 5.5 is used.
