Long Term Support Release

Long Term Support (LTS) Release means any Major Release or Minor Release, which is designated as “Long Term Support Release” by SSH.

Support Periods

SSH provides Support Services for each Major and Minor Release for two years after the general availability date of the respective release and for each subsequent Maintenance Releases only as long as Support is provided for the related Major or Minor Release.

For a release designated as Long Term Support (LTS) Release, SSH provides Support Services for three years after the general availability date of the respective release. SSH also offers the possibility to purchase extended support for a Long Term Support Release for four and five years after the general availability date.

For the Guardian software, SSH provides Support Services for each Major Release for at least one year after the general availability date of the respective release. SSH provides Support Services only for the latest Minor Release of SSH Guardian software. For Guardian hardware, SSH provides Support Services, including hardware replacement, for three years after the end of life of the hardware is announced.

Major Releases

Major Releases, which are denoted by an increase in the first digit of the software version number (e.g. 3.0 or 6.0), include major new features, which may not be compatible with any previous Release version. If you have a valid Support Service agreement, you are entitled to upgrade your existing SSH product installations free-of-charge with the latest Major Release version from the SSH Customer Download Center.

Minor Releases

Minor Releases are second digit versions (e.g. 3.1 or 6.2) of SSH products and they include new features and enhancements. If you have a valid Support Service agreement, you are entitled to update your existing SSH product installations free-of-charge with the latest Minor Release version from the SSH Customer Download Center.

Maintenance Releases

Maintenance Releases are third digit versions (e.g. 3.0.1 or 6.1.9) of SSH products. Maintenance Releases related to a Long Term Support Release will always contain only fixes that address product defects (errors categorized as Critical and/or information security vulnerabilities), and will not include any new features. Other Maintenance Releases can contain other fixes and enhancements and may also include new features. If you have a valid Support Service agreement, you are entitled to update your existing SSH product installations free-of-charge with the latest Maintenance Release version from the Tectia Customer Download Center.
