Wellesley, MA & Helsinki, FI - SSH Communications Security, known the world over as the inventors of the SSH protocol, hosted an advisory board meeting for five of the world’s largest financial organizations on March 2nd in Newark, New Jersey. The advisory board provided input to SSH Communications strategy in relation to the challenges financial organizations face going forward around data security, file transfer and identity access management.
“Much of the event was focused on the challenges enterprises face today in managing their public key infrastructure. The processes around key management are often manual, undocumented and not clearly structured. It is bringing a level of cost and risk which is no longer tolerable and therefore it is becoming a high priority item on the agenda of the risk and security architects,” stated Tatu Ylönen, CEO of SSH Communications Security.
In addition to issues related to SSH user key management, the advisory board went into depth around the challenges of privileged access auditing as well as provided its input on potential directions SSH could develop the protocol and its role the secure file transfer and remote administration space.
“We were very pleased with the turnout and participation of the represented organizations. It reaffirmed the relevance of SSH as a strategic player in the area of secure file transfer and remote administration. The advisory team served as an excellent sounding board for our future strategy and provided valuable guidance on the product development roadmap. It is our intention to continue to work closely with our key customers and seek relevant solutions to problems they face in managing their SSH infrastructure. These solutions must reduce cost, mitigate risk and support compliance to add value from the customer perspective,” added Matthew McKenna, Head of Sales and Marketing.
SSH Communications Security launched its new Universal SSH Key Manager last week at the RSA security event in San Francisco. The solution is designed to help customers discover the private and public key trust relationships in their environments for SSH and OpenSSH, organize those relationships, and then manage them automatically.
