Arto Vainio, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr. Vainio joined SSH Communications Security in July 2002 as Chief Executive Officer, bringing over 25 years of experience in senior level positions with major telecommunications corporations.
He has achieved a number of milestones since then, such as reorganizing the company structure and re-defining the corporate strategy to provide easy-to-use centrally managed data security solutions for large enterprises, financial institutions and government agencies. Under Mr. Vainio's leadership, SSH launched the SSH Tectia solution in autumn 2003, which is now a leading end-to-end communication security solution in the market, extensively used by some of the world’s largest organizations.
Prior to joining SSH, Mr. Vainio was a Director of Marketing at Tellabs, a US telecommunications system vendor. Mr Vainio was instrumental in the success of the company's most successful international product, MartisDXX, building a business base of over 200 networks in 80 countries. Prior to joining Tellabs in 1993, Mr. Vainio was Vice President of Sales, South-East Asia for Nokia Telecommunications (now Nokia Siemens Networks). Earlier to this, he had several other key positions in Nokia, since he joined the company in 1979.
Mr. Vainio has received Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Vaasa Technical College and Bachelor of Science in Economics from Tampere University.
