* Tips & Tricks: SSH Tectia Status Window (Windows Client)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Connection Broker is the component of SSH Tectia Client that takes care of the actual connections, authentication, and session handling. All GUI client, sshg3, scpg3, and sftpg3 connections of a user, as well as connections secured by SSH Tectia Connector, are handled by one broker process. Sometimes it can be useful to check how many connections are open, and what is their status. For this purpose, there is a separate SSH Tectia Status window on Windows systems.
To open the SSH Tectia Status window, you should double-click the SSH Tectia icon in the system tray or select the Status option from the shortcut menu (opened when right-clicking the icon). The left-hand side of the Status window contains links to the different views of the dialog box: the Connections, Keys, and Logs views. Click the icons to see the relevant views.
The Connections view displays the currently active secured connections (terminal, tunnel, or SFTP) to and from your computer. For example, you can see the amount of bytes uploaded or downloaded per connection.
The Keys view displays the public keys and certificates that are available for public-key authentication. This can be used, for example, for checking that the Broker can see the keys on a smart card.
The Logs view displays logged information of the currently secured connections. You can select text from the log with the mouse and copy it to the clipboard with Ctrl+C. Pressing Ctrl+A selects all contents of the log. If there is a problem with connecting to a server, the Logs view is a good place to start troubleshooting!
