SSH Announces New Product Versions of the SSH Tectia Solution
----------------------------------------------
SSH today announced new versions of its SSH Tectia solution, featuring a new pricing model for securing enterprise applications, and two new product packages, SSH Tectia Server 4.2 (T) and SSH Tectia Server 4.2 (A), designed specifically for business application protection and secure system administration.
SSH Tectia Server 4.2 (T) makes it easier for large enterprises to begin protecting their corporate business applications using SSH Tectia with minimum desktop software investments. It is designed to work exclusively with SSH Tectia Connector, the client software that is completely transparent to the user and enables business application protection without any user intervention. When SSH Tectia is used to protect a single business application without centralized management, SSH Tectia Connector licenses will be provided free of charge.
SSH Tectia Server 4.2 (A) is designed for secure system administration, enabling system administrators to remotely administer application servers and other resources using a secure connection. With this system, IT Security Administrators can manage dispersed resources without fear that the system administration infrastructure will itself become compromised. SSH Tectia Server 4.2 (A) is an updated version of the existing SSH Tectia Server 4.1.
Other New Features
Additional new features that have been incorporated into this new version include:
SSH Tectia Server, Client and Connector 4.2 and SSH Tectia Manager 1.3 will be available to customers in mid-November. Pricing for protecting business applications with SSH Tectia Connector 4.2 and Server 4.2 (T) will vary depending on the number and type of applications supported and the number of clients. Contact your SSH Sales professional for more information.
SSH Tectia client/server solution 4.1.5 released!
----------------------------------------------
The SSH Tectia client/server solution 4.1.5 was released on October 1, 2004. If you have a valid 4.1.x license file, you can get updates for SSH Tectia Client, SSH Tectia Server, and SSH Tectia Connector at the "Updates and Packages" section at http://www.ssh.com/support/downloads/.
If you do not have a valid 4.1.x license file, and you are *not* a customer with a maintenance agreement, please purchase the new product version from SSH Online Store at http://www.ssh.com/company/sales/.
The new versions are now FIPS-validated for the following platforms:

*Changes to the Online Support Site
----------------------------------------------
The online support system athttp://support.ssh.com has been updated. The support site is the main entry point for customers with a valid support agreement and in the near future will also be used for handling product evaluation support. The site also holds knowledge base articles that are publicly available.
The support case lifecycle has been changed so that an e-mail notification is sent to the customer once a solution to an open issue has been provided by a support engineer. The solution is also visible via the web interface. Closing of the case is done by the customer once an acceptable solution is received.

- Windows domain authentication in heterogeneous environments - this key new capability eliminates the need for separate authentication in multiple operating system environments, enhancing end-user transparency
- Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) support - this popular protocol used for authentication, authorization and accounting in many large enterprises via dial-up, VPN and wireless network access is now supported under SSH Tectia
- Nested tunnel support - this key new feature enables greater flexibility in providing end-to-end security for remote users accessing multiple complex applications
SSH Tectia Server, Client and Connector 4.2 and SSH Tectia Manager 1.3 will be available to customers in mid-November.
