New versions of the SSH Tectia announced!
----------------------------------------------
The new versions of SSH Tectia have been announced today. The new SSH Tectia solution provides seamless integration with identity management and PKI systems that allows organizations to replace traditionally weak legacy authentication capabilities with digital certificates and strong, two-factor authentication.
**SSH Tectia Certifier 3.0 introduces a unique concept of integrated identity management that allows organizations to replace weak legacy authentication with digital certificates and strong, two-factor authentication tokens without introducing a new layer of user management. The new integrated identity management has been developed in cooperation with vendors such as IBM, HP, and Computer Associates to ensure seamless compatibility with the leading identity management products. Other new features of SSH Tectia Certifier 3.0 include fine-grained dual control and enhanced auditing.
**SSH Tectia client/server solution 4.1 introduces integration with Entrust Authority enabling automated lifecycle management of both user and host keys for added security and scalability. The new version also enhances platform support of SSH Tectia Client and Server with SuSE Linux Professional and Red Hat Enterprise Server 3.0.
**SSH Tectia Manager 1.2 adds centralized deployment and operation of PKI credentials which reduces the complexity and costs of using digital certificates for strong user authentication and scalable host key management in SSH Tectia client/server solution environments.
The new releases will be available in early June.

* Tips & Tricks: SSH Tectia Server: Subconfigurations
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Administrators usually want to define more restrictive access to internal servers if the client is not connecting from the internal network. SSH Tectia Server configuration has two keywords for defining subconfigurations, HostSpecificConfig and UserSpecificConfig.
Knowledge base article ID 7882 (How to create subconfigurations) describes how TCP forwarding access can be controlled on the SSH Tectia Server gateway depending on where the user is connecting from. In the example, remote users are allowed to create TCP tunneling only for using email services.
Knowledge base articles for SSH Tectia products are available at our support site http://support.ssh.com. From the main menu, select 'Knowledge base' and you can type in the article ID number.
