Computer Associates Designates SSH Tectia Certifier As ca smart For Integration With eTrust Admin
Integrated Enterprise Identity Management Solution Provides Strong Two Factor Authentication with Minimal Complexity
SSH Communications Security Corp. (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of managed security middleware, today announced that its SSH Tectia Certifier has been certified ca smart with eTrust Admin from Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE:CA).Working together, SSH Tectia Certifier and eTrust Admin allow organizations to replace weak password security with tamper-resistant smart cards and authentication tokens without introducing a new layer of user management. Increased identity protection facilitates secure and scalable operation of centralized user management. The integration enables highly cost-effective deployment and operation of strong, two-factor authentication based on digital certificates by integrating the certificate lifecycle management with the primary identity management process.
"Corporate customers are more likely to adopt strong two-factor authentication if they can reduce the complexity of implementation and their long-term cost of ownership," said Bill Mann, vice president of eTrust product management at CA. "The combination of SSH Tectia Certifier and eTrust Admin provides this type of streamlined solution, allowing robust identity management technology to be deployed and maintained without creating an additional layer of management."
eTrust Admin automates user provisioning and provides life cycle management across disparate systems, applications, physical resources and Web services. It automatically creates, modifies and deletes user accounts on multiple, heterogeneous systems or applications based on user roles, helping ensure a consistent application of security policies across the enterprise.
SSH Tectia Certifier is a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) platform product for issuing and managing digital certificates in an enterprise environment. SSH Tectia Certifier enables the use of strong two-factor user authentication with smart cards and USB tokens to support secure access to enterprise applications.
The ca smart seal of excellence is awarded to solutions that integrate seamlessly with CA solutions, enabling customers to take advantage of best-in-class enterprise technologies while minimizing cost, time-to-benefit and risk.
"Until now, strong two-factor authentication has been complicated and expensive to implement," said Tatu Ylonen, founder and CTO of SSH Communications Security Corp. "SSH has worked closely with CA to integrate SSH Tectia Certifier seamlessly with CA's eTrust Admin to provide our customers with robust employee authentication capabilities quickly and very cost-effectively."
