New Version of SSH Tectia Managed Security Middleware Solution Provides Integrated Identity Management
Solution Provides Added Security, Scalability and Reduces the Complexity and Costs Associated with Digital Certificates
SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of managed security middleware, today announced a new version of its SSH TectiaSSH Tectia is an enterprise class suite of security solutions based on SSH's industry-leading technologies, including the award-winning SSH Secure Shell used by millions worldwide. SSH Tectia enables end-to-end secure communications throughout the internal and external network. It provides transparent strong encryption and authentication and easily integrates into heterogeneous, multi-platform environments. SSH Tectia's management capabilities allow for easy scalability and centralized policy deployment.
The new version of SSH Tectia includes SSH Tectia Certifier 3.0, SSH Tectia client/server solution 4.1 and SSH Tectia Manager 1.2. New features and benefits include:
- SSH Tectia Certifier 3.0 - The new version of SSH's PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) platform product introduces integration with identity management that allows organizations to replace weak legacy authentication with digital certificates and strong, two-factor authentication tokens without introducing a new layer of user management. This new integrated identity management has been developed in cooperation with vendors such as IBM, HP and Computer Associates to ensure seamless compatibility with the leading identity management products.
SSH Tectia Certifier 3.0 also includes fine-grained dual control and enhanced auditing for administrative operations improving operational risk management in mission-critical PKI environments. Other new features include Oracle support as an internal database in Windows. - SSH Tectia client/server solution 4.1 - The new version of the SSH Tectia multi-platform secure communications solution introduces integration with Entrust Authority enabling automated lifecycle management of both user and host certificates for added security and scalability. The new version also enhances platform support of SSH Tectia Client and Server with SuSE Linux Professional 9.0 and Red Hat Enterprise Server 3.0.
- SSH Tectia Manager 1.2 - SSH Tectia Manager is a comprehensive security management platform that permits IT professionals to easily establish and maintain enterprise-wide security middleware from a central location. The new version includes centralized deployment and operation of PKI credentials which reduces complexity and costs of using digital certificates for strong user authentication and scalable host key management in SSH Tectia client/server solution environments. SSH Tectia Manager 1.2 also supports the new SSH Tectia client/server solution 4.1.
"The new versions of the SSH Tectia solution enables users to seamlessly integrate and manage robust, standards-based digital certificates within their existing infrastructure," said Tatu Ylonen, CTO and founder of SSH Communications Security Corp. "The SSH Tectia solution is designed to protect critical networks from internal and external security threats by providing end-to-end secure communications across the network. Using PKI for two-factor authentication is an additional safeguard to ensure proper identity management and greatly lowers the risk of unauthorized users accessing the network."
"The management of digital certificates is critical for professional IT security environments," said Simon Perry, VP, Security Strategist of Computer Associates. "Leveraging SSH Tectia Certifier's robust features with CA's eTrust Admin identity management system enables user provisioning between the two systems making it possible to automatically issue, suspend or revoke digital certificates through only one system, easing the burden of PKI management. We are pleased to work with an industry-leader such as SSH to offer customers a feature-rich PKI solution."
The new version of the SSH Tectia solution will be released in early June.
