Employer/employee negotiations in SSH's Kuopio office concluded
The negotiations between SSH Communication Security Corp and its employees concerning concentrating SSH's operations from Kuopio to Helsinki have been concluded today. As a result of the negotiation, SSH's personnel will be reduced by 7 to 11 people. The company will offer to the maximum of four people the possibility to transfer to the headquarters in Helsinki. The lay-offs will be carried out on March 10, 2003. As a result of the re-arrangement of operations, the companys Kuopio office will be closed and the product development of SSH Sentinel(TM) product will be continued in Helsinki. The employer/employee negotiations were carried out on the basis of employer's negotiation proposal made on February 4, 2003. The negotiations applied to the whole Kuopio office that employed 12 people. The negotiations were part of the optimization of SSH's operations along the lines started last spring by centralizing SSH's R&D and product management functions. With these measures the company believes that it can achieve cost- savings worth from EUR 0.2 million to EUR 0.3 million per quarter.
