Siemens Chooses SSH Certifier To Authenticate Users In Hosted SAP Service Center
SSH Communications Security, a world-leading developer of managed security middleware, today announced that Siemens Finland has licensed SSH Certifier. Siemens Finland will issue certificates to be used with the SAP Business Suite service center of The Finnish Defence Forces, providing accurate electronic authentication for all ERP users.
Siemens Finland has signed a service agreement with The Finnish Defence Forces to host SAP Business Suite ERP solution. Under this agreement, Siemens Finland can issue and manage digital certificates with SSH Certifier. SSH Certifier will help ensure that all ERP users are authenticated using the highest level of Certification Authority (CA) and Registration Authority (RA) components available today. The SAP Business Suite solution was first implemented in January 2003 by the Finnish Navy to provide digital certificates for 3500 users.
Electronic personalization of employee smart cards, and enrolment of digital certificates is carried out with SSH Token Master software. Additionally, SSH Accession desktop software will be integrated to the SAP Client software enabling the smart card based sign-on to other applications.
