SSH to Discuss Wireless Security at Internet World Wireless East 2002
Ylönen will be presenting"Security and the Wireless Internet" and Saarikko will participate in a vendor panel discussing"Wireless Security Tools." Both presentations will be a part of the Security Forum on Friday, Feb. 22, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
As the wireless industry grows, so does the need for reliable, impenetrable wireless security. Ylönen will examine the wide range of technologies behind the wireless Internet and discuss both the inherent and the avoidable security and reliability problems. From current 2G and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) tools to 3G, wireless LANs and Bluetooth, Ylönen will explore the practical application of the latest tools and how to protect a network behind the wire.
As part of a vendor panel, Saarikko will discuss how SSH Secure Shell for Handhelds addresses security challenges for mobile devices by protecting communications where theyre most vulnerable - at the password level. Saarikko will illustrate the need for wireless security, and how SSH Secure Shell brings the industrys leading password and authentication protection to mobile and handheld devices such as mobile phones and PDAs.
