SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of Internet security solutions, today announced the appointment of Internet security and communications veteran, William Burk, to vice president of sales for the Americas. Burk will be responsible for leading the sales team in identifying and establishing customer relationships and driving expansion into new markets throughout North and South America.

"Bill's proven track record in sales management, program development and execution at leading companies makes him a valuable addition to the SSH sales team," said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Inc. "His background in network security sales will be especially beneficial to SSH as we become a leader in securing IP networks and Internet access."

Burk brings over 15 years of industry experience to SSH. Prior to joining SSH, Burk worked as VP of Major Accounts at AVAYA, after serving as AVAYA's VP of Data and Data Service Sales, where he managed a sales and operations team based in the U.S., Europe and Asia with responsibility for 00 million in annual revenue. Before that, he served as VP of Global sales for VPNET Technologies, Inc., (purchased by AVAYA), where he helped the company achieve 30% quarter-to-quarter growth. In addition, Burk has held executive sales positions at Acacia Networks, Connectware/Raylan, Retix and the Wollongong Group, Inc. Burk earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
