SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of Internet security technologies, today announced that Spirent Communications SmartBits® Division has licensed SSH IPSEC ExpressTM Toolkit 4.0. Spirent, a leading provider of systems that enable next-generation network performance, will integrate SSHs award-winning IPSec (Internet Protocol Security) technology into its TeraVPNTM (Virtual Private Network) product the industrys first performance test solution for IP-VPNs. "We chose SSHs IPSec toolkit because of its industry-leading reputation as the de-facto standard for IP-based security," said Bahaa Moukadam, vice president of product marketing, Spirent Communications, SmartBits Division. "We have developed the first VPN test solution, and it was important to use IPSec technology that would provide customers with reliable feedback on their network security performance."

TeraVPN allows network equipment manufacturers, Internet service providers and enterprise users to test and measure the performance issues related to adding IP-VPN technology to their networks. Specifically, the new TeraVPN determines tunnel capacity, measures network performance, and helps troubleshoots interoperability issues. By integrating the SSH IPSEC Express Toolkit into its solution, Spirent is using the highest performing IPSec solution available as it tests performance for thousands of tunnels that simulate thousands of clients across hundreds of ports.
