SSH Licenses IPSec Toolkit to Hitachi Systems for VPN Development
Solid prospects for rapid growth in the Japanese market
SSH Communications Security, a world-leading developer of Internet security technologies, and Hitachi Systems and Services, today announced that Hitachi has licensed SSH IPSEC Express Toolkit for desktop solutions.Hitachi Systems will use SSH IPSEC Express Toolkit to develop tailor-made VPN client systems for specific customers. Until now, Hitachi Systems has been involved in building and marketing VPN systems based on network security products supplied by NetScreen, but faced with a new requirement for special customer-oriented VPN client systems. As a result, the company has turned to the SSH toolkit, which will permit short development times, and also ensures easy interoperability with other firms' VPN gateways, including the NetScreen VPN gateway.
J. B. Dumerc, President & CEO of SSH Japan, commented on the agreement: "We are delighted to be able to cooperate with Hitachi Systems in providing solutions for Internet security problems. Companies are beginning to realize that they need both security and reliability when using Internet technology, be it for business or leisure purposes."
SSH IPSEC Express Toolkit is equipped with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) IPSec standard, in order to achieve the highest levels of Internet security. SSH's IPSec technology provides IP networks with strong, expandable security, and opens up new business opportunities, such as local or global communications for business to business e-commerce or e-banking.
About IPSec
IPSec is an IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) standard for protecting IP traffic using cryptography on the packet level. This Internet protocol is the primary security technology used in VPNs (Virtual Private Networks). A driving force for IPSec, VPNs allow users to establish encrypted and authenticated data communications between multiple network devices or networks using insecure public networks such as the Internet. SSH's IPSec solutions are among the leading toolkits for IPSec implementations for secure local and global communications. The company's latest product, SSH IPSEC Express Toolkit 4.0, adds scalable, strong security to IP networks. With SSH IPSEC 4.0, enterprise customers are ensured a high level of security, with considerable savings in product development time and delivery.SSH Corp. Contact
