SSH Secure Shell 3.1 New Features & Benefits
- Extended and More Advanced Authentication Functionality - SSH Secure Shell 3.1 provides users with more advanced and extended PKI features and interoperability for more secure, leading-edge digital certificates and smart cards based authentication. The new product has been thoroughly tested and certified for interoperability with CAs (Certification Authorities) such as SSH Certifier and RSA Security Keon® PKI for the easiest possible integration with existing PKI systems. Additionally, the product now offers support for OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) for improved security through real- time verification of a certificates validity. Extended support for widely-used smart cards and authentication tokens from vendors such as Schlumberger, Gemplus, Setec and Aladdin allows users to utilize their present smart cards or select their preferred vendor free of constraints.
- Improved Support for Windows Servers - SSH Secure Shell 3.1 now also supports Microsoft Windows XP servers, enabling users to secure servers running the latest version of the popular Windows server operating system. This latest release also brings SSH Secure Shell for Windows Servers to the same high level of PKI features and functionality previously only available in Unix version and thus improving the security by enabling network-wide strong authentication using digital certificates. Much requested support for public key-only authentication on Windows servers enables automated and unattended secure operation such as automated, scheduled data back-up transfers.
- High-end Secure File Transfer Performance and Functionality - SSH Secure Shell 3.1 provides substantial performance improvements in file transfer speed and CPU usage over previous versions, making it the fastest SSH Secure Shell product so far, allowing time and resource savings for users. The new product also supports SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) event logging at the server end, enabling recording of user actions for improved security through better control and traceability. Anonymous SFTP enables authenticated and encrypted file transfers.
- Improved SSH Secure Shell for Workstations 3.1 Windows Version - SSH Secure Shell for Workstations 3.1 Windows version now includes an intuitive, easy-to-use editor for creating and editing unique keymaps for different usage scenarios. The latest version also runs on Microsoft Windows XP allowing users to secure their new operating system. SSH Secure Shell for Workstations 3.1 Windows version includes an open API (Application Programming Interface) for supporting authentication agent functionality through products like SSH Accession enabling authentication forwarding for consecutive logins.
