SSH, Corrent team for high-speed security processing
New Product Targeted for Internet Equipment Providers
SSH Communications Security (HEX: SSH1V), a world-leading developer of Internet security technologies, today announced that Corrent Corporation, a semiconductor start-up company focused on the development of high-performance, standards-based Internet security chips, has licensed SSHs IPSEC ExpressTM (Internet Protocol Security) toolkit. Corrent will offer SSHs IPSec technology within its network security processor developers kit for use with its line of Packet ArmorTM and Socket ArmorTM processors. As part of its overall development platform strategy, Corrent will develop specific drivers to enable its OEM customers to use SSHs IPSec technology along with its high performance security processors. For X.509 certificate and IKE (Internet Key Exchange) support, Corrents customers may contact SSH directly. SSHs IPSEC Express toolkit provides the software necessary to enable the secure passing of master keys for establishing secure tunnel VPNs (Virtual Private Networks).
"Corrent chose SSH for faster time-to-market and its proven track record as a standard in IP security," said Richard Takahashi, president and CEO of Corrent. "SSHs technology ensures interoperability and reliability for our gigabit and higher data rate security products, and it provides us with flexibility in conforming to our customers special requirements."
Based on industry security standards such as IPSec and SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), Corrents products encrypt and authenticate optical- speed data traffic in infrastructure equipment at full line rates without performance degradation. Corrents products enable service providers to offer high-performance managed VPN services, and multinational enterprises can extend their high-speed Intranet to remote facilities and suppliers. Data farms and Web hosting businesses can also significantly increase the number of secure transactions they support using equipment built around Corrent technology.
"The increasing power of the Internet has made it challenging to secure all data at high speeds. Corrents Internet security processors target this need," said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Inc. "With the addition of SSHs technology, Corrent will be able to provide fully tested IPSec software, embedded in its OEM customers high-performance security systems, providing a greater level of security and faster time-to- market."
About IPSec and SSH IPSEC Express
IPSec is an IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) standard for protecting IP traffic using cryptography on the packet level. This Internet protocol is the predominant security technology used in VPNs (Virtual Private Networks). A driving force for IPSec, VPNs allow users to establish secure data communications between multiple networks or network devices using insecure public networks such as the Internet. SSHs IPSec technology adds scalable, strong security to IP networks, without limiting its flexibility to enable new types of business opportunities, such as secure local and global communications between companies. SSH IPSEC ExpressTM is the worlds leading toolkit for IPSec.SSH Corp. Contact
