SSH partners with Symbian to provide security for next generation mobile phones
"We consider security to be one of the most important factors in the decision to adopt next generation mobile phones as a new business tool," says Jeremy Copp, VP Business Relationships, Symbian, "More and more confidential corporate information is delivered through mobile and wireless networks. SSH has proven its know-how and ability to develop security software for demanding business use."
In order to drive the adoption of mobile usage in corporations, Symbian is working with key technology companies, such as SSH, to enable the development of end-to-end solutions for enterprise users. These companies are creating enabling technologies to support the Symbian platform and licensing them to device manufacturers, enterprise application developers, systems integrators, and value-added resellers who are delivering solutions for enterprise customers.
"Mobile and wireless networks are creating the most important improvement of efficiency for companies since the invention of the Internet," says Markku Kangas, President and CEO, SSH. "However, wireless data communication needs enhanced security in order to be effective for demanding business use. Symbian recognizes this great demand for enhanced security and has partnered with SSH to provide stronger security solutions to future networks. Wireless security is a focus area for SSH and using Symbians technology as the first supported mobile platform for SSH products made sense."
