SSHs Popular Internet Security Application Evolves to Support European and Asian Markets
SSH Communications Security (HEX: SSH1V), a world-leading developer of Internet security technologies, today announced the first localized versions of its popular SSH Secure Shell for Workstations product on Windows clients. Available in German, French and Japanese, SSH Secure Shell is recognized as the de facto standard for secure connections over the Internet."The popularity of our SSH Secure Shell product has grown tremendously over the last year, far exceeding our expectations," said Markku Kangas, President and CEO, SSH Communications Security, Oyj. About Secure Shell
SSH Secure Shell for Workstations is part of the SSH Secure Shell family. In addition to SSH Secure Shell for Windows and UNIX clients, versions for UNIX and Windows servers are also available. Secure Shell protects terminal connections, file transfers, e-mail access, graphical X11 (X Window System) applications and TCP/IP connections. Its main applications include system administration, Web site administration, and remote access to corporate resources and applications such as e-mail for employees or business partners. SSH Secure Shell has been adopted by major telecommunications suppliers (e.g., MCI), government agencies (e.g., NASA), universities (e.g., Harvard), networking vendors (e.g., Cisco), and numerous corporations. In early 2001, SSH announced SSH Secure Shell 2.4, a new product version that includes several advanced features designed to increase ease-of-use and functionality for end users. These features consist of support for RSA SecurID tokens for Unix and Windows platforms, Kerberos 5, the authentication protocol developed by MIT, and PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module), the de facto standard for single sign-on and authentication services for Linux and Solaris platforms.Product Pricing and Availability
The German and French versions of the product are available March 22nd and the Japanese version is available March 30th. The single license price for SSH Secure Shell for Workstations is $99. A single copy of the Japanese version of SSH Secure Shell for Workstations costs 13,900 yen. Volume pricing is available for large deployments.
