The Integration of the Internet Standard Technology, IPsec into Utimaco Products for Virtual Private Networks (VPN)

Utimaco Safeware AG, the leading European manufacturer of professional and certified IT security solutions and SSH Communications Security (SSH), the leading provider of Internet security technology announced today their cooperation to bring cutting-edge Internet Protocol security (IPsec) technology from SSH to Utimaco's VPN products. "SSH IPSEC Express ensures that networks are well protected against possible security breaches. The IPsec technology licensed from SSH will be integrated with the next generation of Utimaco´s VPN solutions in order to provide standards-based, interoperable, and unlimited strong security for its users." said Norbert Pohlmann, member of the Utimaco Management Board.

IPsec is an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard for protecting IP traffic using cryptography on the packet level. This technology adds security to IP without limiting its flexibility. Leading companies worldwide are utilizing IPsec to gain the competitive edge provided by secure communications.

Utimaco's solutions for VPN include the KryptoGuard LAN, a black box VPN system which works independently from the operating system as a closed hardware box with its own centralized management. On the client side the SafeGuard VPN solution enables remote users to access securely to their corporate 's network or another remote user. In this way Utimaco's VPN solutions will allow Corporations and remote users to use public networks such as the Internet for confidential communication.
