Fully IPSec-Compliant SSH Sentinel Achieves New Milestones for Ease of Use and PKI Integration for OEMs and End Users

SSH Communications Security (SSH), a leading developer of Internet security technologies, today announced the immediate availability of SSH® SentinelTM VPN client a revolutionary new IPSec (Internet Protocol Security) client software product that provides OEMs with an easy, effective way to add secure IP communications to their solutions. SSH Sentinel takes full advantage of certificate-based authentication and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) with full support for all IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) IPSec standards. SSH Sentinel is an interoperable solution, ideal for uses such as remote access, file transfer, e-mail, Web browsing, messaging, and IP telephony in VPNs (Virtual Private Networks).

SSH Sentinel provides secure remote access through a company's IPSec gateway for a higher level of security and faster connection speeds through IPCOMP (Internet Protocol Compression). SSH Sentinel offers strong encryption and certificate or PSK- (Pre-Shared Key) based authentication, local LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) capability for retrieving certificates, CRLs (Certificate Revocation Lists) with online certificate enrollment support and Centralized Policy Management. In addition, SSH Sentinel is capable of establishing a secured connection with strong authentication independent of a complex PKI.
