SSH Communications Security introduces transport layer security toolkit
SSH® TLS Toolkit Secures Web-Based Management and E-Commerce with a Complete Set of Interoperable Security Tools for Developers
SSH Communications Security (SSH), a world-leading developer of Internet security technologies, today introduced its TLS (Transport Layer Security) Toolkit, growing its family of developer offerings for implementing industry standard Internet security technologies. TLS is the industry standard successor to SSL (Secure Socket Layer) used pervasively by e-commerce Web sites to secure Web-based transactions. The SSH TLS toolkit provides full TLS functionality, as well as backwards-compatibility to SSL, for virtually any software, hardware or firmware IP implementation.Benefits of SSH TLS Toolkit
With the introduction of SSH TLS Toolkit, customers can take advantage of the well-known and widely deployed Internet protocol while maintaining interoperability with current SSL-based applications. SSH's new toolkit offers further benefits such as: a shorter time-to-market, seamless integration, multi-vendor interoperability, and a flexible platform. Following are more details:- Shorter Time-to-Market - The SSH TLS Toolkit offers a shorter time-to-market for developers by including TLS server software and eliminating the need to build a SSL or TLS implementation from scratch.
- Seamless Integration - SSH's new toolkit offers developers the ability to seamlessly integrate TLS technology with the rest of the family of SSH developer solutions such as SSH® IPSEC ExpressTM, SSH® IKE Toolkit and SSH® Certificate Toolkit and any IP application.
- Multi-Vendor Interoperability and Open Solution - The SSH TLS Toolkit provides secure remote configuration capability for developers that ensures complete interoperability with Web browsers from Netscape and Microsoft, and DSA (Digital Signature Algorithm) X.509v3 digital certificates.
- Flexible Platform - The SSH TLS Toolkit works with existing SSL-enabled clients and servers and makes it easy to add complete TLS support to IPSec-based equipment and software solutions. The SSH TLS Toolkit is interoperable with current SSLv3 clients and servers. In addition, the toolkit enables firewalls and VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) to more easily include secure remote management capability.
"SSH is committed to developing a wide range of Internet security solutions that speed our customers' time-to-market. With the SSH TLS toolkit, our customers have complete flexibility in choosing the security technique that best addresses their application's needs, such as secure remote server administration, from a single vendor," said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH. "The TLS Toolkit is designed to seamlessly integrate with the rest of SSH's family of toolkits for our customers to easily develop and deploy products for Web-based management and e-commerce applications."
