SSH Communications Security Unveils U.S. Operations and Names George Adams President and CEO
SSH Communications Security, Inc. (SSH), the world-leading developer of Internet security and advanced cryptography solutions, today announced its new U.S. operations in Mountain View, California. The company also announced the appointment of George Adams as SSH's new U.S. president and CEO. SSH will leverage its U.S. presence to better serve its customers with Silicon Valley-based market, product, and services development and technical support. The U.S. company will provide identical products and services as the Finnish-based company.
"Internet security has evolved into a global concern," said Adams. "Next year, the Internet security market is expected to grow 70 percent to over $5 billion. With Internet complexity increasing, companies will require strong security to enable the safe transmission of mission-critical information. I look forward to the challenge of helping to provide a secure global communications environment. This will help making the Internet safe for e-commerce and users."
As president and CEO, Adams will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to build the company's market position and organization. Adams reports to Tatu Ylonen, President and CEO of SSH Communications Security Ltd. in Espoo, Finland. Adams will also be a member of the board of directors of SSH Communications Security Ltd.

"The experience of George Adams in marketing, strategic alliances, product development, and IP licensing is a crucial asset for SSH. We are rapidly taking the lead in Internet security solutions. Prior to joining SSH, Adams was vice president of business development for Phoenix Technologies Ltd., where he led strategic initiatives in Internet-based support and helped create Phoenix's new ebetween business. In earlier roles at Phoenix, Adams was vice president of marketing and strategic alliances and vice president of PC products where he led development and marketing for the company's PC software products. Prior to joining Phoenix in 1988, Adams held marketing and general management responsibilities with Sun Microsystems, Intel, Analog Devices, and Motorola. He earned an MBA from Boston University and a BSEE from the University of Miami.
