Nokia Licenses SSH Communications Security's IPsec Technology
As the Internet and its applications expand to include everything from Web servers to routers to smart phones, the need for secure IP networks increases exponentially. Additionally, advanced functions requiring heightened security are being incorporated into all levels of the network. The IPsec protocol is a widely adopted standard that provides strong cryptographic security and enables the feature-rich requirements of today's demanding IP networks.
"The explosive growth of extranets, Intranets and e-commerce has spurred increased hacking activities and subsequently demands the need for better IP networking security," said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH. "We are very pleased to work with a world leader like Nokia to expand the usage of IPsec and help to deliver the most effective and secure networking solutions in the market."
SSH's IPSEC Express is a toolkit for implementing IPsec security in networking products that need strong, cryptographic security. This Internet protocol is the predominant technology used in VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and is an IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) standard for protecting IP traffic using cryptography on the packet level. SSH's IPsec technology adds scaleable, strong security to IP networks without limiting its flexibility to enable new types of business opportunities, such as secure local and global communications between companies, for e-commerce and for e-banking.
