Eicon And SSH Communications Security Team To Bring IPSEC To ADSL
Eicon Technology (TSE: EIC; ME: EIC), a leading provider of remote access products for telecommuting, Internet and remote LAN access applications, and SSH Communications Security (SSH), the world-leading developer of Internet security and advanced cryptography solutions, announced today that Eicon is licensing the SSH IPSEC Express Toolkit for incorporating Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology into Eicon's product offerings, especially its ADSL product family.
ADSL technology is the next wave in high-speed remote access, delivering bandwidth as high as 8 Megabits per second over existing phone lines. VPN is a key technology for the deployment of many new applications over the Internet, which require security of confidential information. IPsec ensures that VPN networks are protected against possible security breaches. By combining ADSL and IPsec in their products, Eicon is providing their customers with a solution for secure remote access to corporate resources over the public network, reducing connectivity costs.
