Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. Selects SSH IPSEC Technology for Secure Internet Key Exchange in its INFONET Routers
Technology from SSH Communications Security Ensures High Key Management Interoperability and Performance in INFONET Routers
SSH Communications Security announces its licensing agreement with Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd., one of the world's leaders in providing base materials, processes, and technologies to the telecommunications, electronics, and automobile market, with sales reaching $ 6 billion during 1998."SSH IPSEC technology will be part of a whole family of INFONET Router Series," says Masatoshi Sugihara, General Manager Network Product Division at Furukawa Electric, "We will release upgraded versions of Mucho router called Mucho-EV which have several enhanced functionality including IPSec VPN".
IPSec (Internet Protocol Security) is an Internet standard for interconnected, secure networking devices and the predominant technology in Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). SSH's IKE (Internet Key Exchange) is the world's leading IKE implementation and represents the latest in key management technology. It is a toolkit for adding key management functionality into an IPSec-based product.
