SSH Communications Security Announces Revolutionary IPSec Technologies for Windows Platforms
New in SSH IPSEC Express
SSH IPSEC Express 2.1 has an innovative packet interceptor for Windows 95, 98 and NT platforms. The new interceptor speeds authentication, encryption, and SA processing. It also provides a uniform interface to networking abstractions on the host platform. For Windows 95, 98 and NT platforms, the new version also supports extensive dial-up and DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), which are becoming more and more popular in office and home environments. DHCP enables remote users to retrieve their IP addresses automatically to make secure dial-ups easier.High-end network systems will as well benefit from the new hardware encryption acceleration API added in SSH IPSEC Express 2.1. It enables easy integration of SSH's IPSec software with any compatible encryption acceleration chip with minimal effort. The latest security chips can now be used to maximize system throughput by seamlessly accelerating encryption with SSH IPSEC Express 2.1 software.
In addition, a robust certificate manager has been added to make SSH IPSEC Express 2.1 compatible with all the major CA vendors. It includes multiple LDAP support, making it possible to retrieve certificates from multiple directories and media. The new integrated HTTP server provides support for CRLs and Certificates.
SSH IPSEC Express 2.1 is available now for the NetBSD and FreeBSD UNIX, Sun Solaris 2, Solaris 7, Windows 95 and 98, and Windows NT platforms. SSH is also planning to support other platforms in the near future.
Leading the Way
Bruce Schneier, President of Counterpane Systems and author of Applied Cryptography says that, "SSH has one of the best IPsec -- a standard for IP security -- implementations in the world." (www.counterpane.com)."IPSec Express 2.1 demonstrates our commitment to expanding our IPSec technology leadership", said Tatu Ylonen, Chairman and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Ltd. "We are committed to making it the highest quality, most robust, and easiest to deploy IPSec implementation in the industry."
SSH is an industry leading developer and marketer of IPSec technologies. Since 1997, numerous OEMs, Internet infrastructure providers, and system integrators have licensed SSH's IPSec to incorporate high security in their products. These customers include many IT market leaders like Sun Microsystems, Lucent Technologies, Fujitsu (TeamWare), Furukawa Electric, Xedia Corporation, Data Fellows, and i-data, among others.
