SSH Communications Security Ltd. announces the new SSH IPSEC Express
IPSEC allows cryptographic protection of all end-to-end connections and is compatible with unprotected devices if required. All communication is secured on the IP-packet level. ISAKMP/Oakley is the method used for managing key encryption and encryption parameters. The IPSEC market expects explosive growth during the spring and summer of 1998.
Information security standards are eliminating the security risks associated with Internet Protocol (IP) thus making the Internet the most significant information medium available. Using new information security solutions based on cryptography, the Internet offers secure communication without sacrificing technological strengths such as flexibility and universal compatibility.
IPSEC and ISAKMP/Oakley are the key technologies employed in this change, enjoying the support of many major enterprises in the IT-industry, for example Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, and Hewlett-Packard. Leading companies in the field are currently implementing IPSEC-based security solutions to gain the competitive advantage that secure communications provide.
Speeds up the product development and minimizes risks
SSH IPSEC Express is the first comprehensive, openly marketed IPSEC toolkit that enables customers to implement IPSEC functionality in their own products easily and fast. The customers include router and firewall manufacturers, information security application vendors, manufacturers of operating systems, and other Internet equipment and software vendors. The SSH IPSEC Express toolkit allows customers to reduce the duration of the product development significantly and to minimize the risks inherent in the development of critical security functionality. Due to the easy availability of the toolkit's technology, the SSH IPSEC Express is expected to significantly contribute to the spreading of IPSEC technology. SSH ISAKMP/Oakley is the key management module of SSH IPSEC Express and is also offered to customers as a separate toolkit for use with their existing IPSEC solutions.SSH IPSEC Express is one of the most competitive IPSEC solutions available, supporting all the latest standards and draft standards. It has proven itself as being extremely compatible with all other main solutions. For instance, the ISAKMP/Oakley solution of SSH Communications Security is currently used as a reference implementation for the interoperability of other major solutions.
All traffic on the Internet is expected to be encrypted within the next two years, provided that there are no legal restrictions placed on cryptography. Encryption will become a basic service supported as a part of all network communications devices and communications software.
